Homemade Hamburgers Recipe – Better Than Takeout! π
Who doesn't love a good burger? π Whether it's for a weekend BBQ, a quick lunch, or a cozy dinner, nothing beats a homemade hamburger made with fresh ingredients and lots of love. Today, I’m going to share with you a simple and delicious **homemade hamburger recipe** that’s juicy, flavorful, and way better than any fast food version!
π Ingredients:
**For the Patties:**
* 500g (1.1 lbs) ground beef (preferably 80% lean, 20% fat)
* 1 small onion, finely chopped
* 2 cloves garlic, minced
* 1 egg
* 2 tbsp breadcrumbs
* 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
* Salt and black pepper to taste
**For the Toppings:**
* Hamburger buns (4)
* Lettuce leaves
* Tomato slices
* Onion rings
* Pickles
* Cheese slices (optional)
* Ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise (as preferred)
π³ Instructions:
1. **Prepare the Patty Mixture**
* In a large bowl, mix ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, breadcrumbs, and Worcestershire sauce.
* Add salt and pepper to your taste.
* Mix until just combined. Don’t overmix to keep the patties tender!
2. **Shape the Patties**
* Divide the mixture into 4 equal parts.
* Form into round patties, slightly larger than your burger buns (they shrink when cooked).
* Press a small dent in the center with your thumb – this helps them cook evenly.
3. **Cook the Patties**
* Heat a grill or frying pan over medium-high heat.
* Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked.
* If adding cheese, place a slice on top of each patty in the last minute of cooking.
4. **Toast the Buns**
* Lightly butter the inside of your burger buns.
* Toast them on the pan or grill for 1-2 minutes until golden.
5. **Assemble Your Burger**
* Start with the bottom bun.
* Add lettuce, patty, tomato, onion, pickles, and your favorite sauces.
* Top with the bun lid – and there you have it!
π΄ Tips for the Best Homemade Burgers:
* **Fat = Flavor:** Don’t use super lean beef. A bit of fat keeps the burgers juicy.
* **Don’t press down the patties while cooking!** You’ll squeeze out all the juices.
* **Customize it!** Add bacon, mushrooms, jalapeΓ±os, or even a fried egg!
πΈ Final Thoughts:
Making hamburgers at home is not only fun but also allows you to control what goes into your food. Try this recipe, and I promise – you won’t be going back to store-bought burgers anytime soon!
